# Vindicia IDP 2.0 Console User Management Capabilities

Vindicia IDP 2.0 Console provides merchant Super Users user management capabilities for users in their organization. It allows them to create new users, assign user roles and to help other users in accessing Vindicia portals.

Vindicia Super Users are considered administrative users. They are defined with care representative privileges that let them access the Vindicia IDP Console and manage users.

To learn more details about Vindicia roles:

* For Vindicia Retain, see [roles in the Retain User Guide](/portal/retainPortalUserGuide/topics/portalRetainUserRoles).
* For Vindicia Subscribe, see [roles in the Subscribe User Guide](https://docs.vindicia.com/bundle/b_Subscribe_Portal2_User_Guide/page/topics/portalUserRoles.html).

Using Vindicia IDP 2.0 Console, Vindicia's Super Users (with care privileges) can do the following:

* [Add a new user](careNewUser)- Add a new user from your merchant environment to provide access to Vindicia portal.

* [Assign (or change) a user role](careChangeUserRole) - Set a role for the user to control the permissions and visibility the user gains when accessing the Vindicia Portal

* [Search for a User](adminSearchUser) - Find a specific user in Vindicia IDP 2.0 to see their profile page

* [Update the user's identity details such as display name, or email](updatingProfile) - Change details in a user's Identity page such as adding alternate email or changing names

* [Reset a Password](adminVinIDPResetPassword) - Help users in your organization recover a forgotten password by initiating a reset password flow for them.

* [Generate a Backup Code](generateBUC2.0) - Help users in your organization regain access to their Multi-Factor Authentication with a temporary Backup Code (BUC).

* [Suspend a User or Remove Suspension](adminVinIDPSuspendUser) - Temporarily stop a user from accessing the Vindicia Portal by Suspending them. You can reactivate the user by removing the suspension.

* [Deactivate a User](deactivatingUser) - Permanently stop a user from accessing Vindicia Portal but keep their details.

* [Delete user](careDeleteUser) - Permanently remove a user from the system, including any user details

* [Unlock user](unlockUserIDP2.0) - The unlock action is often needed when a user is locked out of their account due to frequent login attempts with invalid credentials.
