# Vindicia Retain - 2026.01 Release Notes

***

Production Release Date: January 27, 2026

## What's New with Retain?

Vindicia Retain leverages Vindicia's proven payment recovery and smart retry functionality along with additional touch points that make it easier and faster to use.

What's coming bulletins and Release notes for Vindicia Retain will be provided monthly in the [Vindicia Knowledge Center](/portal/retainReleaseNotes/retainReleaseNotes) listing new features, functionality, and enhancements that will be made available.

## Retain REST APIs

No Retain REST API changes for this release.

## Payment Features

### Braintree - Network Token Support

Merchants using Braintree can submit vaulted network tokens to Retain, enabling retries using tokenized card credentials issued by the card networks. Network tokens help improve authorization success rates by keeping card data current and reducing declines due to expired or reissued cards.

For merchants already integrated with Retain using Braintree, retries can be submitted with a network token by providing:

* The Braintree vaulted network token identifier

* The associated card network (e.g. Visa, Mastercard)

* The token cryptogram / authentication data, when required by Braintree for the transaction

No changes are required for Retain's retry logic. Retain will use the provided network token for retry attempts via the Braintree integration.

### Adyen - Support for Sending Additional Shopper Fields

Merchants using Adyen can now send additional shopper related fields to Retain to help identify potential fraud through Adyen's fraud screening. The optional shopper fields include:

* Shopper Billing Address

* Shopper Name

* Shopper Email Address

### Stripe - Support for Settlement to Other Connected Accounts

Merchants using Stripe with multiple connected Stripe accounts, Stripe provides a feature to create a charge in one account and transfer funds to other connected accounts. This feature is available under "Stripe Connect".

In this release, Retain has been updated to support requests to settle / transfer funds to another connected Stripe account. Retain has updated the Stripe integration to pass a different settlement Stripe account for fund transfer in the payment\_intent API. For example, payment\_intent will be created in Stripe account "acct\_ABC" but the actual transfer of the funds will happen in Stripe account "acct\_XYZ."
